I do! It\u2019s great if you like that music or news but not so great if you don\u2019t!<\/p>\n<p>What we think of first thing in our day is profound and sets the tone for the entire day.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, it is so important that we do what we can to set the scene for the day we want to have and if we know what our overall purpose is in life, it will take a lot to push us off-track.<\/p>\n<p>So, if we face a challenging moment and are able to think about our purpose at a second\u2019s notice, this will keep us on track.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><em>\u201cA year from now you may wish you had started today.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">-Karen Lamb-<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[Karen Lamb is the author of the biography \u201c<em>Thea Astley: Inventing Her Own Weather (UQP)<\/em>\u201d, shortlisted for six national literary awards, and co-winner of the 2016 Prime Minister&#8217;s Literary Award for Non-Fiction. These are not in any particular order &#8211; they will all give your morning motivation a boost \u2026<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You have the freedom to choose to be positive and surround yourself with joy. So, start your day how you would like to start it \u2013 what kind of music \/ news would you like to hear first thing?<\/li>\n<li>You have the opportunity to exercise and take care of your internal<br \/>\ncellular life.<\/li>\n<li>You have the opportunity to give yourself a gift and do the things that you enjoy and excite you: listen to music, read, practice yoga, meditate, be creative, enjoy nature, play golf, take a walk, a swim or a run.<\/li>\n<li>You have multiple possibilities to learn something new.<\/li>\n<li>You can improve your communication skills with your friends, partner and \/ or colleagues.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The minute you open your eyes in the morning, you become engaged in your day. And the race begins by acknowledging the many awesome reasons to jump up out of bed and start your day with purpose, intention, and joy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><em>\u201cHow would your life be different if\u2026You stopped worrying about things you can\u2019t control and started focusing on the things you can?
