Last time, we explored \u201cShaping Dialogue with Smarter Questions\u201d\u00a0<\/em>and when we learn to ask more thoughtful, expansive questions, we create richer conversations, deeper connections, and better solutions. In these moments, conversation becomes less about understanding and more about winning.<\/p>\n But what if the goal wasn\u2019t to win, but to co-create?<\/p>\n Language is a powerful tool. It can divide us or bring us together. Often, the way we frame our words determines whether we create walls or bridges in conversations.<\/p>\n Consider these subtle shifts in language:<\/p>\n X<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u201cThat won\u2019t work because \u2026\u201d ?\u00a0YES<\/span>:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cHow might we make this work differently?\u201d<\/p>\n X<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t agree with you.\u201d ?\u00a0YES<\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cI see it differently \u2013 here\u2019s why.\u201d<\/p>\n X<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u201cYou\u2019re wrong.\u201d ?\u00a0YES<\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cWhat if we looked at it from another angle?\u201d<\/p>\n These simple adjustments turn\u00a0debate into dialogue<\/strong>, allowing for curiosity, collaboration, and new possibilities to emerge.<\/p>\n Beyond Either \/ Or: Embracing Both \/ And Thinking<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We often fall into the trap of\u00a0either \/ or thinking \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>where there\u2019s a \u201cright\u201d side and a \u201cwrong\u201d side. Regenerative thinking encourages us to embrace\u00a0both \/ and possibilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n For example: YES<\/span>:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cHow might we create solutions that support both people and the planet?\u201d<\/p>\n Shifting to a\u00a0both \/ and mindset<\/strong>\u00a0opens up more expansive, creative, and sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n The Language of Collaboration<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Here are a few ways to make your language more co-creative:<\/p>\n YES<\/span>:\u00a0<\/strong>Replace \u201cbut\u201d with \u201cand.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cI see your point,\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0what if we also considered\u2026\u201d) By being intentional with our words, we can turn friction into flow, resistance into resonance, and conflict into co-creation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s one way you\u2019ve shifted a conversation from conflict to co-creation?
