Welcome back and I hope you are keeping well and thriving! Last week’s Thought was; “Self-Talk Dynamics” about the profound impact of our internal dialogue and the conversations we have with ourselves.
In the blog, I shared seven simple and yet invaluable tips to ensure that our internal dialogue reflects our best selves, which I hope were helpful. If you missed it, you can catch up on the blog here
This week, I’d like to continue our journey of self-discovery around communication and I will give you 7 great tips further down.
Following our recent discussions on communication and personal empowerment, I wanted to share some additional insights on reinforcing feelings of self-worth and confidence in your daily routine.
Is Mindfulness something that you practice on a daily basis?
This is something that I practice on a daily basis and I also help others with this. It has changed my life in a profound and lasting way and it can for you too.
When I lead a group wellbeing session, their favourite exercise is always the “Chocolate mediation”! (I will share the link in my blog so you can try it out at home – make sure you have some chocolate!)
You may also be familiar with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs? Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist found that the ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness.
By cultivating awareness of your inner dialogue and practicing mindfulness in your communication, staying present in the moment and observing your thoughts without judgment gives us greater focus, clarity and intention. In turn, this fosters healthier and more empowering interactions with others.
It is so important to remember to celebrate your achievements, no matter how small! And to seek support when needed. You’re not alone on your journey, and reaching out to trusted friends, family members, or professionals can provide invaluable support and encouragement.

In this week’s blog, I share some great Mindfulness tips and, even if you are already aware of it, there may be one more golden nugget in there that really helps!
Here are seven valuable mindfulness tips for leaders and entrepreneurs to incorporate into their daily lives:
Start Your Day with Mindfulness: Begin each day with a mindfulness practice, such as a walk where you take in the beautiful surroundings, or a meditation or deep breathing exercises. This sets a positive tone for the day and helps you approach challenges with clarity and calmness. Here is a link to some great meditations and for later in the day, you may also want to do the first one – The Chocolate Mediation!
Practice Active Listening: Cultivate the habit of active listening during meetings and conversations. Focus fully on what others are saying without judgment or interruption. This fosters better understanding, trust, and collaboration within your team.
Take Regular Breaks: Integrate short mindfulness breaks into your workday. These breaks could involve a brief walk outside, a few minutes of stretching, or simply pausing to take a few mindful breaths. Stepping away from your tasks periodically helps you recharge and maintain focus.
Stay Present in Tasks: When working on a task or project, strive to be fully present and engaged in the present moment. Minimise distractions and bring your attention back to the task whenever your mind starts to wander. This enhances productivity and the quality of your work.
Practice Gratitude: Take time each day to reflect on things you’re grateful for, whether it’s progress on a project, support from colleagues, or personal achievements. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude promotes positivity, resilience, and overall well-being.
Embrace Imperfection: Accept that setbacks and challenges are a natural part of life and work. Instead of dwelling on mistakes or setbacks, practice self-compassion and learn from them. Approach each situation with curiosity and a growth mindset.
Set Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries between work and personal life to prevent burnout and maintain balance. Carve out time for relaxation, hobbies, and spending quality time with loved ones. Prioritise self-care to sustain your energy and effectiveness in all you do.
